The Oregon Lottery was created through the initiative petition that was approved by Oregonians in November, 1984. The initiative amended the Oregon Constitution and required the establishment and operation of a state lottery. Since then, the Oregon Lottery has become a critical funding source for important Oregon programs.
In every corner of the state, your Lottery dollars support what matters to Oregonians. They help create jobs, fund public schools, maintain state parks, enhance watersheds, and strengthen wildlife habitat. Beginning this year, your Lottery dollars will also benefit Veterans Services and Outdoor School. Win or lose, every dollar you play adds up to a better Oregon for everyone.
